Pre-Registration Representative - INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY
POSITION SUMMARY
The Pre-Registration Representative is responsible for completing patient pre-registration activities prior to scheduled visits, procedures, and surgeries to support accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and a positive patient experience. This role collects and verifies patient demographics, insurance information, and financial details by phone or electronic communication, identifies authorization and eligibility requirements, and educates patients on their responsibilities before the date of service.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional coursework or certification in healthcare administration, medical office, billing, or related field preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in medical registration, patient access, scheduling, or pre-registration in a physician practice, clinic, or hospital setting required.
Working knowledge of health insurance terminology (co-pay, deductible, co-insurance, authorization, pre-certification, coordination of benefits) or ability to learn quickly.
